INA-Lunchbreak on supply chain due diligence law part 5
(Audio partly only in German) In the March edition of our event series "From the legal code to the agricultural supply chain: putting due diligence into practice", we talk about the implementation of deforestation-free supply chains. We clarify what drivers of deforestation are and how guidelines for implementing deforestation-free supply chains can look - also with regard to regulation at EU level.
Companies around the world are committing to deforestation-free supply chains. The problem, however, is that there has been no common understanding of approaches that work. The Accountability Framework Initiative (AFI) is a coalition of non-governmental organizations that aims to solve this problem. In our next lunch break, we have invited a representative of WWF in addition to our INA experts on deforestation-free supply chains. She will present the application of the AFI.
As usual, the one-hour online meeting will take place on the first Friday of the month.
The date is 04.03.2022 from 12:00 to 13:00.
Representatives of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Initiative for Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains (INA), as well as representatives of a non-governmental organization will speak.
Moderation: Christian Thorun, ConPolicy
The event is aimed at interested stakeholders from the private sector, civil society and politics.
