Discover the impact the Coffee Innovation Fund (CIF) has had on around 60.000 smallholder coffee farmers in seven countries. Join us online on April 9th to explore the solutions, review lessons learned, and connect with entrepreneurs, innovative thinkers, and passionate advocates for more equitable coffee supply chains.

Between 2019 and 2023, the CIF supported 53 1-year pilot projects in Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda, with up to €50,000. With a total budget of €4.6 million the fund was financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and jointly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and private project partners. While creativity and out-of-the-box thinking were encouraged during the selection of projects, they all shared one common goal: to increase profitability for smallholder coffee farmers

The event will begin with the presentation of recipe books by the independent consultant Jen Green, portraying the projects of the CIF’s second implementation round and their successes. André Gersmeier from the independent consultancy Mainlevel Consulting AG will then present an evaluation study covering the results and outcome/impact data of the CIF’s implementation. During a deep dive in breakout sessions, CIF partners will present their projects, thereby addressing the topics Digitalization, Gender Equality, Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, and Value-Addition Strategies – all highly relevant to the coffee sector.

We are looking forward to welcoming you and discussing visions for fairer global coffee production!
