Your opinion counts: The OECD and FAO are currently developing a handbook on deforestation, forest degradation and due diligence in agricultural supply chains, based on the OECD-FAO Guidelines for Responsible Agricultural Supply Chains. To ensure that the perspectives of as many stakeholders as possible can be incorporated worldwide, a public consultation is currently underway in which interested parties can participate until 29 July 2022.

The handbook, funded by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is intended as a guide to help companies minimise deforestation and forest degradation in their supply chains through due diligence. The focus is on deforestation and forest degradation, but the Handbook's recommendations can also be applied to minimise negative impacts on other ecosystems beyond forests that are worthy of protection.

The draft handbook and consultation survey can be found here.
