Joint statement on the Supply Chain Act
In July 2020, 33 stakeholders of the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative (INA) and other multi-stakeholder partnerships committed to a German Supply Chain Act.
In a joint statement, 33 companies and organisations have committed themselves to the Supply Chain Act. They want to take responsibility together with the German government to make their supply chains sustainable and traceable from the country of production to German and European supermarkets.
They pledge their support to the German government for a national supply chain act as well as a European regulation. Together with other actors from the private sector and civil society, you have submitted a joint statement to Federal Development Minister Müller electronically.
Many of the signatory companies have already taken steps to meet their responsibilities in global supply chains. They show that it is possible to make supply chains more transparent and sustainable. The signatories emphasize that a legal regulation would contribute significantly to legal certainty and a level playing field.
