What makes sustainability standards credible?
GIZ started the online consultation on the revision of credibility criteria for environmental and social standards on ssct-revision.org. Participate now and help shape sustainability!
Interested stakeholders can now participate in the revision of these criteria for the Sustainability Standards Comparison Tool (SSCT) via an online consultation. Criteria address the areas of scheme management, standard setting, assurance as well as claims & traceability.
When? 18 January 2021 - 28 February 2021
What? The subject of this consultation is the SSCT's credibility criteria, which are used on the consumer website Siegelklarheit and the website Gütezeichenfinder for sustainable public procurement. The consultation is being conducted by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Why? The credibility criteria have now been in use for more than five years. This revision aims to ensure that developments and innovations of recent years are also reflected in our assessment of sustainability standards. Therefore, feedback from interested stakeholders is needed on key areas such as standard setting and control system.
How can you participate? From now on, you can find information on the consultation process at ssct-revision.org, where you will have the opportunity to submit your comments, questions and ideas for the first draft. Get involved now and share your view on what makes a sustainability label credible for you!
