Online Event: Launch of The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021
Release of the State of World Food Safety and Nutrition 2021 report with new data on challenges during COVID-19. A look ahead at future strategies for global food safety.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), together with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Health Organization (WHO), has launched a report on world food security and nutrition.
Contents are the first evidence-based assessments at the global level on food safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. The report compiles facts and figures and provides a 2020 assessment, which is used to present six strategies for addressing the main causes of malnutrition in the future. Topics include climate variability, economic downturns, and COVID-19 as the world's greatest nutrition challenges.
