Presentation of the report "Africa's Protected Natural Assets" followed by an expert discussion on biodiversity conservation in Africa.

The event is part of the Green Value Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

To protect biodiversity worldwide, the United Nations is currently developing new standards within the framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). One focus is the recognition of the high value of natural diversity for economic and social development. With its event, the BMZ wants to stimulate innovative measures for the protection of nature. To this end, African, German and other international leaders and experts have been invited.

The discussion will also include the presentation of the report "Africa's Protected Natural Assets," which provides an initial assessment of the economic importance of protected areas in Africa.
