11. October 2024

Dear friends of the Initiative for Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains (INA),

We are pleased to invite you to the 32nd INA Lunchbreak on 11 October 2024 from 12:00 to 13:00 CET.

The event will focus on the role of the retail sector in achieving living incomes and wages for producers at the beginning of global agricultural supply chains.

You will gain insights into the changing role of food retail in the sustainability transformation and hear the first results of a current BMZ-funded accompanying research project on true costs and pricing in the supply chain.

The accompanying research is being conducted by a consortium consisting of the University of Göttingen, Nuremberg Institute of Technology, IFPRI and the Impact Institute. The aim of the research is to identify factors that influence pricing in global agricultural supply chains and to translate these into recommendations on how environmental sustainability and social justice can be promoted in global agricultural supply chains.

You will find the access link in the calendar entry, which you can download after registration.

In our series of events, we will show you that implementing due diligence is feasible for everyone. With our expertise, we want to actively support you in the implementation. On the one hand, we will present various practice-oriented tools and guidelines with a focus on the agricultural and food sector. On the other hand, we keep an eye on ongoing EU legislative processes and international discussions for you. It is also indispensable to take the perspective of the people and companies in the partner countries. We want to include them through our cooperation on the ground. "From the legal code to the Agricultural Supply Chain" is a regular format offered online as a digital Lunchbreak on the first Friday of every month.
