INA-lunchbreak on supply chain due diligence act part 19

In this lunch break, we will focus on "Direct marketing as an opportunity for transparency and traceability".
In addition to cooperation on an equal footing, direct trade offers many other advantages for production and consumers to fulfil their due diligence obligations. How this can be implemented in practice is shown by means of two concrete examples.
In close cooperation with local partners, Gebana sells agricultural products directly to consumers via its own online shop and gives producers a 10% share of the online sales price.
GIZ's Global Programme Sustainability and Value Added in Agricultural Supply Chains is demonstrating how direct marketing and local value creation go hand in hand with the joint project with the Ecuadorian chocolate manufacturer Paccari and WWF. The aim is to establish fine chocolate from Ecuador's Amazon region on the international market along a deforestation-free supply chain and to keep the entire value chain in the country.
